Fingerprints
Preschool & Tales

Introduction
: Each one of us has something about us that is different from everyone else and that is our fingerprints. Someone could look at just your fingerprints and know that it is you. Fingerprints can be used to help solve a mystery and they can be fun to look at.

Today we will take a look at our fingerprints and make an interesting art project using our special fingerprints. I have a few mystery stories to share with you and some songs to sing and then we’ll begin on our craft for today.

Welcome Song

Book: Mystery on the Docks

Flannel: Can you do this? (hand movements)

Song: My Skin

On Top of my elbow,

On top of my knee

On top of my wiggly ears

Skin stretches on me.

Just like elastic,

And like rubber bands.

Skin shrinks and stretches

Right over my hands.

My skin’s very special

And yours is too.

Our fingerprints are unique

To me and to you.

Action Rhyme: I have 10 fingers

Book: The ABC Mystery

Song: Clapping Song by Barney # 10

Action Rhyme: Hands Can

Book: Olivia and the Missing Toy
